Latitude 6, a contemporary 52-foot Jeanneau yacht

Step aboard our Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 519 - a thoughtfully appointed yacht where comfort, quality, and adventure converge.

Our small group experiences offer a level of refinement rarely found on standard sailing charter offerings.

This isn’t about packing cabins to the brim or skipping on the details. It’s about sailing in style – without the fuss.

Guests enjoy:

  • Four spacious double guest cabins, (2 ensuite) plus a cosy double bunk cabin.
  • Three bathrooms, offering comfort and convenience, with electric flush loos.
  • Premium linens, bed toppers, soft pillows and towels.
  • A welcoming, unpretentious atmosphere for those seeking more from a sailing holiday.  We also offer the option to work toward internationally recognized sailing qualifications, as relaxed or as focused as you wish.

Whether you’re chasing horizons or simply looking to unwind in good company, we’ve raised the standard on what a sailing escape should feel like.

More about Mike

Mike has safely delivered dozens of yachts and sailed hundreds of thousands of nautical miles over the last 40+ years. Here are some highlights

  • Restored a 74ft gaff rig Classic Yacht, “Thelma 1898” and ran her commercial campaign for the European Classic Regattas.
  • Co-designed and built a catamaran, Plastiki, from recycled PET bottles to raise awareness of the North Pacific Ocean Garbage Patch.
  • Worked as the Technical Manager for charter companies in Turkiye, the West Indies and Australia.
  • Co-designed, built and raced an ultra-light, 40ft canting keel racing yacht, “Radical One”.

Much more than just a qualified skipper & sailing instructor, Mike is a commercial pilot, a mechanic and a boat surveyor.

There isn’t much he doesn’t understand about how to sail boats quickly, safely, to the conditions presented, and within the limitation of the crew. He speaks French and German, and can order drinks in at least 4 additional languages. Testament to his patience, Mike has also (mostly successfully) raised a daughter and step kids, as well as surviving a marriage.

New Latitudes has been a lifelong passion project for Mike. He draws on the many facets of his life experience and skills to teach safe, practical, reasoned sailing in a professional and encouraging environment.
